Whether you are a TRU student living in campus housing or TRU off-campus housing, you’re probably living the student’s life on a budget. In Kamloops, there are many opportunities for free or affordable recreation and entertainment that are suitable to students. Here are just few ideas.
Affordable Kamloops Fitness for TRU Students
Staying fit is important to students. Regular exercise is beneficial to mind and body. It keeps your senses sharper, makes you more alert, and help you be more resilient to the sometimes stressful student’s life. Here are a few low, or no cost, fitness opportunities for TRU students on a budget.
Tournament Capital Center (TCC)
TCC facilities are enjoyed by over 1 million people each year. Take advantage of the low, $28/month TRU student rates. Get access to the world class Canada Games Aquatic Center, an indoor track, gym and weight room.
Whether you want to attend a fitness bootcamp, learn yoga, get 1-on-1 personal training, or jump into a group cardio class, the “Y” has a fitness class for you. The “Y” has flexible day passes and affordable monthly fees so you get a lot of fitness for your money. There are plenty of programs to choose from at both the downtown Y and John Tod Centre Y.
Summit Village Residences Fitness Room
If you live at Summit Village Residences in our modern TRU off-campus housing, visit our building’s fitness center. Because of the fitness room’s convenient access and brand new equipment, you’ll make excuses to work out, rather than making excuses to avoid working out!
Summit Village Residences is a great alternative to on-campus TRU housing. Our Kamloops apartments are minutes by car or bus and have convenient access to food, shopping and entertainment.
Affordable Outdoor Adventure for TRU Students
Outdoor activity lovers of all ages can take advantage of local hiking and nature exploring just outside your door. Whether you are a TRU student living temporarily in Kamloops, or a permanent resident, you may not have had an opportunity to get out and explore your own back yard. Visit the Tourism Kamloops hiking page and you’ll see how many no-cost hikes there are just minutes from where you live.
